2023 Winter English Language Program

In January next year, Sangmyung University students who are joining the winter language program will go to the University of Missouri-Kansas City in the U.S., Simon Fraser University in Canada, and the University of Adelaide in Australia for four to five weeks. I’d like to walk you through the details of the 2023 winter language program. Let’s look into specific information such as credit acceptance, application eligibility, scholarship, and selection criteria, as well as vivid reviews!
Guide to the Winter Language Programs
The University of Missouri-Kansas City in the U.S. program will run for four weeks from January 2 to 31, 2024, Simon Fraser University in Canada will run for four weeks from January 2 to 26, 2024, and the University of Adelaide in Australia will run for five weeks from January 2 to February 2, 2024, with 15 students for each school. In the case of Australia and Canada, there were many applicants, so five more students were selected than the initial recruitment.
Program participants will get 3 credits, and students who have previously participated in the language training before also can get the credits within a cumulative range of 12 credits.
In the case of scholarships, it will be given if the participant passes the language training course and submits all the documents required. Scholarships will be paid up to 3,000,000 won. It can be awarded only when the average GPA for the previous semester is higher than 2.0.
Program participants are selected in the order of average GPA for the entire semester, and additional recruitment may proceed if there are significantly many applicants. For additional recruitment, the first round of recruitment will be given priority.

The Applied Language Institute at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in the U.S. has a mission to offer comprehensive English to Speakers of Other Languages instruction as well as language acquisition and cross-cultural classes and seminars. In addition, the Institute aims to provide students with an understanding of U.S. culture and values.
The English Language and Culture Program at Simon Fraser University in Canada is located in downtown Vancouver. With fully certified instructors, participants will build their communication skills, experience Canadian culture, and truly live the language.
The English Language Centre at the University of Adelaide in Australia offers a range of General and Academic English language programs, along with short courses for international students and visiting groups.
Vivid Reviews of the Previous Participants
Hyunjin Jang, who has been to Simon Fraser University, gave us practical advice. She said that the transportation there was very convenient since Vancouver is a popular place in Canada. She also recommended taking the bus after school, saying that there are so many beaches nearby.
Minseo Kang, who has been to the University of Adelaide, said that life in Australia was such a happy time that her worries were overshadowed, and she could also learn a lot and expand her perspective on the world through the program. She strongly recommended joining the program for those who are worried and hoping to enjoy the experience.
