The Best Hobbies at Sweet Home
Split the Individual and Family
By Yoo-Jung Kim, Reporter
Nowadays, our country is conducting the social distancing campaign. I'd predict that Sangmyung University students also spend more time at home. Are you taking an online lecture these days? Studying is important, but there are too many things you can do at home. I will tell you some fun activities you can do at home except for listening to online lectures.

#1 For individual
<Growing lettuce>
I want to recommend growing lettuce and making various syrups for tea as hobbies that individuals can do at home. For growing lettuce, you have to prepare the soil, lettuce seedling, water, and space for planting. You can plant lettuce seedling on the prepared space that is full of soil. you should just water the lettuce seedling two or three times a week. This lettuce is easy to grow and has the characteristic of growing fast. Especially, with this hobby you can feel it is fun to grow lettuce. Therefore, I would like to recommend you cultivate lettuce and eat your own crops that you grow. In addition to lettuce, various crops can be planted in the soil, so you can buy various seedlings and plant them. Why do not you water the lettuce before and after the online lecture and feel small happiness?

<Making Various Syrups for Tea>
You can choose the fruit you want and make syrup. Next, you can cut the fruit of your choice, mix it with sugar to complete the fruit syrup. You can use this syrup to make fruit syrup ade or fruit juice when you take online classes or relax. This fruit syrup ade is good for health and tastes good. It can use a variety of fruits such as strawberries, limes, and lemons, and has many healthy ingredients such as vitamin C. While you are participating in the social distancing campaign, you can feel like you have a home cafe at home. In addition, you can save money if you make fruit syrup rather than buying it at a cafe.
#2 For being together
<Playing Boardgames>
I expect that most people have more time at home, and there is also more time to communicate with their families than before. If you want to communicate more actively or if you are not good at communication with your family, I would recommend board games as a way to communicate. You and your family naturally can play games, talk, concentrate and enjoy the time. The advantage of board games is that you can talk to each other and stay together in one place compared to online games. If there is no board game, I recommend renting it from a board game cafe or visiting with you around the house. How about playing board games as a hobby with your family today?

<Home training>
I recommend home training. You can do exercise cooperatively with your family together. If you have not done home exercise training or do not know, I recommend you learn by watching YouTube. There are many home exercise training videos on YouTube that you can easily learn. We can exercise together, take care of our health, and have fun while doing various exercises. Especially, you can enjoy the hard exercise because you can do it with your family at home. Health care is the most important thing these days. Therefore, I hope you exercise with your family to take care of your health and overcome COVID-19 together. Let's invest at least 10 minutes a day for your health and your precious people.
Until now, we have searched for fun hobbies and activities that we can do at home. This is written with my personal experience and views. Therefore, there can be various hobbies besides these four. I hope that students of Sangmyung University will have a healthy time at home enjoying their hobbies and life. Lastly, I would appreciate it if you could recommend various hobbies that you are enjoying or doing at home these days.
